Papa I know you are in a better place, your body no longer aches and your spirit is free. We all miss you and are clinging to all the memories you helped create. This is one of my favorite pictures of us, I don’t remember what I was whispering to you, or if I was kissing your cheek. I’m pretty sure I was telling you I love you and you said I love you too just like you always did.

I have such fond memories of Vern from my high school days... He used to come have coffee and read the paper every day when I worked at the Husky Truck Stop... He was always so kind and truly interested in how things were going in my life... We had many enjoyable conversations and I always looked forward to seeing him... One thing I regret is that he asked me several times to sing the Sand and the Foam by Dan Fogelberg as my solo for the Show Choir Musicale, either my junior or senior year, and I chose a different song, instead... He never told me, but I know he was a little heartbroken about it... so, I'm singing it now for you, Vern... You always brought a smile to my face and warmth to my heart and the thought of you always will...

I've known Vern for many years, he was the milk delivery guy when I cooked at the Agate school, we worked together at W,W Enterprises, and stayed friends after, I am very fortunate to have been able to know someone so amazing, I am also very fortunate that I have some of his paintings and he also made my grandson a few little stools and chairs when he was little. He gave me a rose bush about 26 years ago and its still one of my most treasured rose bushes in my yard. Heaven has definitely gained a beautiful angel

Uncle Vern was a great man. A man of many talents, a lover of many hobbies. Most of all, he was a man of Faith and Honor, the best Husband,Father, Son, Papa, Brother, Uncle and a friend to many. As I type this I am filled with sadness that Vern is gone, yet I am also filled with joy that I had the pleasure of being in this great man’s life. I don’t have to till anyone how great he was. All you had to do was meet him and you knew that. Vern taught and made me a better man. Vern actually saved my life one time. I was having dinner with him and James and John and I cocked on a piece of meat and Vern jump from his chair and gave me the heimlich which dislodged the meat. Then, of course, I got ice cream. I loved Vern Thomason and my life has been better because of him. Thanks Vern. Rob Garnhart

I enjoyed Vern so much as a young man years ago, when John and I hung around together.He was so kind to a shy, awkward young man. Years later as I would run into him on occasion in town, he always was curious how things were for me on the farm. I remember him with a smile.
