Obituary of David E Golding
David E. Golding, 74, passed away Monday, April 18th in Hugo, CO with family and friends by his side. Dave was born September 18, 1947, to Charles and Mary (Schuster) Golding. He attended school at Alta Vista and graduated from Miami-Yoder in 1965. Dave enjoyed sports throughout high school, excelling in baseball and basketball. Dave married his high school sweetheart, Corrine Kinkade, on June 28, 1968. They lived near Orchard, CO before moving south of Rush to make their home in 1973, Dave farming and ranching and Corrine teaching. He and Corrine spent nearly 27 years together there before her passing in 1995. Dave remained there until buying a home in Hugo and moving there in January 2020.
Dave enjoyed his community and had many great friends who he enjoyed spending time visiting with over a cup of coffee or at the kid’s ballgames. He was a hard worker and was always willing to lend a helping hand to help friends and neighbors complete any job from branding to a home remodel project. When time allowed, Dave enjoyed fishing trips with friend Ken Davis on the Chico Basin Ranch and to Canada. Dave was a great card player and was always up for a game of pitch or poker. In his most recent years Dave especially enjoyed watching the Colorado Rockies and old western movies.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Corrine Golding, parents Charles and Mary Golding, and in-laws Bill and Mary Kinkade. Dave is survived by his son John (Shannon) Golding of Salmon, ID, and his sons Charles and Ben. Son, Jason Golding of Rush, CO, and his children Tyler (Brittany) Anderson, Gary Garnhart, Sydney (John) McDonald, Lindsay Golding and Chase Golding. And son, Justin (Emily) Golding of Wild Horse, CO and their children Tressie and Gunner. Also surviving are Dave’s brother Ed (Fran) Golding of Calhan, CO; sister Sue Golding of Dayton, WY; and brother-and-sister-in-law Chuck and Jody Gieck of Rush, CO; as well as four great grandchildren, four nieces and nephews and many other family and friends. The family would like to send a special thank you to Tammy Neises, and the doctors and nurses at Lincoln Community Hospital for the outstanding care of Dave in the recent months until his passing.
