Obituary of William R Gordon
William (Billy) Robert Gordon was born near Kutch, Colorado on July 16, 1931. He was the oldest of three boys born to Raymond and Grace Gordon. He graduated from Simla High School in 1949.
Billy married Juanita Grace Nicks on June 5, 1951 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They had a son, Rick, and a daughter, Connie. They were blessed to celebrate 70 years of marriage together.
Billy and Juanita farmed and ranched in the Matheson area for many years prior to their retirement. Billy always thought that land was a great investment and continued to purchase additional land even into his late 80’s. Billy and Juanita enjoyed traveling and cherished the friendships they made on the many group trips they had taken.
Family was very important to Billy. He really enjoyed having his grandchildren close and watching them grow. He was always interested in his great grandkids sporting events and wanted to be kept up-to-date with the latest details. He was very proud of his family.
He was a past deacon and member of the Central Bible Church. He also served on the Simla School Board and Double El Soil Conservation District Board. He was a member of the Ramah Masonic Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Colorado Springs.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Grace, and brothers James and Charles.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Juanita (Nicks), son Rick Gordon wife Cindy, and daughter Connie and husband Mike Reilly; six grandchildren, Carissa (Doug) Cox, Kelly (Kyle) Kocerha, Kimberly (Tye) Amendt, Chris (Kelli) Reilly, Brian (Kayleigh) Reilly, and Teryn Reilly. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; Caston, Carlee and Kinlee Cox, Treven, Tatum and Trenna Kocerha, Brynlee, Breckyn, Weston, and Wager Amendt, and Chole and Abigail Reilly.
