Obituary of Darrold Mildon Jaques

Darrold Mildon Jaques “Boss” passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022. He was born to Lula and Pebble Jaques on October 2, 1933 in Shaw, CO at their home. Darrold attended school in Shaw, Bovina, Genoa, and graduated from Arriba High School in 1954. Darrold helped his family on their farm and helped neighboring farms, also doing construction work. Darrold joined the Army in 1956 and was stationed at Fort Carson with the Intelligence Squad of Headquarters Company. Later, he went to Ulm, Germany for two years. He was given an Honorable Discharge in January 1962 from the United States Army. While on reserve, he met the love of his life, Patricia Clary, and they married on August 9, 1958 in Genoa, CO. They made their home in Arriba, CO where Darrold worked for the rail road for three years. Darrold and Pattie moved to Aurora in 1961 where he worked for the City of Aurora. In this union, they had two sons, Bob and Mike. In 1995, Darrold retired with thirty-four and a half years of service as District Supervisor for the City of Aurora, CO. In his retirement, he worked thirteen more years as the Building Supervisor at the First Presbyterian Church in Aurora; he also spent time playing with his grandsons Michael and Adam, and caring for his wife Pattie. They celebrated their 50th anniversary before she passed away in July 2009. Boss loved to work in his yard and enjoyed gardening. The man could grow anything!! Darrold also loved picking on his daughters-in-law and anyone else that came around. He just loved to be with his family, and with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Darrold is survived by his children Bob (Linda) and Mike (Brandy); two grandsons Michael and Adam; three step grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren with one on the way; his brother Derrell (Mary); and sister Lorrain. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, mother and father, five brothers, and two sisters.
