Nadine Hass

Obituary of Nadine Hass

Jewel Nadine Hass of Limon, CO ended her earthly life on December 10, 2021 in Limon, CO. Nadine was born in Lamar, Arkansas on December 24, 1931 to Floyd and Edna Lorene Hendrix. She was the first of 11 children. On September 14, 1952 she married Burton Hass in a ceremony in Limon and made their life long home south of Limon on the family farm/ranch. They became parents to a daughter Bonnie and a son Bruce. Nadine worked alongside Burton on the farm, from driving a tractor, feeding the animals, milking the cows, driving a wheat truck and anything else that was asked of her. Nadine drove a school bus for 15 years so that her kids and kids of the neighborhood could attend Limon Public Schools. She always grew a large garden and canned the produce for eating during the winter. Sewing and crocheting were Nadine's hobbies. Burton would joke about her knotting yarn by the hour. Even after Burton's passing in 2008, she would help move equipment from field to field and made sure all were on task for the day. Central Bible Church was her spiritual home and she was the church treasurer for many years. Nadine was especially proud of her five grandchildren: Daniel, Douglas (Kalen) Watson, Andrea (Devin) Schnizel, Zachary (Ashlynn) Hass and Anthony Hass. But the great grandchildren held a special place in her life and she loved talking about their antics: Reagan, Ryedell, Roxanne and Maverick. Nadine is survived by Bonnie (Roger) Watson of Thornton, CO, Bruce (Kara) Hass of Limon. Also six of her siblings, sister-in-law Alice Hass, nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions can be made to: Central Bible Church 42931 County Road 30 Mattheson, CO 80830 or Alzheimer’s Association 4567 E 9th Ave Denver, CO 80220
