Obituary of Bradley E. Heil

Bradley “Brad” Edward Heil, 39, of Limon, Colorado, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, at Creighton University Medical Center Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, of injuries from an Oct. 30 accident. Funeral services will be at noon MST Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, at the Limon Public School gym in Limon, Colorado, with the Revs. Mike Hageman and Santi Keinbaum officiating. Brad was born April 4, 1982, in Portales, New Mexico, to Mark and Dianne (Schluntz) Heil. He was baptized soon thereafter at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clovis, New Mexico. He lived at Clovis until 1990, when the family moved to Ulysses, Kansas. He graduated from Ulysses High School in 2001 and earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Kansas State University in 2007. Brad was 6 weeks old when he first went on the harvest trail, and custom grain harvesting was in his blood. He worked as a grain broker for several years following his college graduation but then returned to Ulysses to rejoin Heil Harvesting LLC. He married Lauren Biberston on Dec. 9, 2017, and they made their home in Limon. Brad and Lauren had one daughter, Lovelle, and were expecting a son in March 2022. More than anything else, Brad loved Jesus and his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle. His wife, sweet daughter and the son on the way were the lights of his life. A master networker, he had dear friends from across the country. His phone rang constantly, and he always had time for another call. He was an excellent mechanic and operator, but he especially enjoyed the financial aspects and interpersonal relationships of the harvesting business. Brad is survived by his wife, Lauren; his daughter, Lovelle; his unborn son; his parents, Mark and Dianne Heil of Ulysses; sisters Karen Nelson and her husband, Jeremy, of Bertrand, Nebraska, Tara Heil of Ulysses, and Kimberly Heil of DeWitt, Michigan; father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Erin Biberston of Riverside, California; brothers-in-law Ryan Biberston and his wife, Bri, of Los Osos, California, and Craig Biberston and his wife, Annie, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; nephews and nieces August Nelson, Ivy Nelson, Sadie Nelson, Raina Nelson and Jenna Nelson of Bertrand, Cade Biberston and Nolan Biberston of Los Osos, and Liam Biberston, Rhett Biberston and Noah Biberston of Rio Rancho; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and innumerable friends.
