I got to know Larry in the early 2000’s, and what discovered made me wish that I could have developed that friendship a few decades earlier.
Kind, gentle, compassionate, unselfish: all are descriptions of Larry. So, too, are funny and humble.
Larry was always there. For Sue and me, he was there the morning after our buffalo broke through a fence and several got hit on I-70. He and Joe showed up the next day, along with the Thieman family, to help us get the remaining herd captured and shipped to safety.
Larry and I had different political philosophies, but never a harsh difference of respect. We could joke about our differences, knowing that we shared common values.
