Obituary of Laura Ann Witmer
On Saturday, May 16, 2020, Laura Ann Witmer (Auntie Lala), loving wife, mother, aunt, and grandmother passed away at home with family by her side.
Laura was born on July 3, 1955 in Casper, Wyoming to Eldon and Violett (Shaffer) Harris. In the mid 60’s the family moved from Wyoming to Colorado.
Laura worked many years at Smoky Hill High School, she loved her “kids” and formed many friendships.
Laura cherished time with her family, sharing stories, playing card games, and eating good food. She loved camping and fishing with her husband Jeff and their boxer babies, and overall, just loved being outdoors at their home in Strasburg.
Laura is survived by her husband, Jeff Witmer; daughter Carrie Acosta; nieces Micki Mackintosh (Cherie) and Vicki Harold (Scott); nephew Willie Johnson (Melissa); grandchildren Breeam and Kierra Brandenburg; and numerous great nieces and nephews. As well as many friends.
Laura is proceeded in death by her parents Eldon and Violett; brother Bill Harris; and sisters Kathleen Johnson and Roberta Mackintosh (Louie).
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. It is a comfort to know that she was met in heaven by family she missed.
