Obituary of Irene Irmer

K. Irene Irmer, 101 Irene Irmer, 101, of limon passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 5th, 2021 at the Aspen Leaf Assisted living Residence in Limon, CO. Katherine Irene Shull was born February 8th, 1920 in Arriba, CO. Irene married Ervin Irmer on March 8th, 1938. To this union were born one son, Harlon and two daughters, Beverly and Donna. Erv and Irene faremed one mile east of Arriba until September , 1980. They then moved to Arriba until Erv's death in July, 1998 when Irene sold the house and moved to Limon. Erv and Irene spent six months of every winter from 1966 until 1998 traveling to Zapata, TX. After Erv's death Irene then spent her winters in California with Donna until she moved to San Juan Capistrano, CA permanently in 2003. In June, 2020, she then moved to Aspen Leaf Assisted Living Residence in Limon until her death in April, 2021. Preceding her in death were her husband Ervin, two brothers and five sisters, and her grandson John Elliston and great-great grandson Jaxson Silva. Irene is survived by her son, Harlon Irmer of Bennett, daughters, Beverly Spencer (Bob) of Limon and Donna Mannle of Laguna Woods, CA, her younger sister Dorothy Mewhinney of Delta, seven grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at a later time this year. Irene was laid to rest in the Arriba Cemetery. Love Funeral Home of Limon, CO was in charge of the arrangements.
