Bertha Dale (Combest) Sitton, passed away December 31, 2020 in the Lincoln County Hospital, Hugo, Colorado. Bertha was born October 09, 1926 in Ness County, Kansas to Dale and Irma Combest and was soon joined by her younger sister, Frieda.
Bertha attended school in Utica, Kansas and graduated from Utica High School and then attended college in Hayes, Kansas. In 1945 she married Stacy Sitton. They soon moved to Genoa, Colorado and then to their own farm near Bovina, Colorado where they spent the next 70 years.
Bertha went by several names, Bertha, Bertie, and Bert, Mother, Grandma, and homemaker. She did all kinds of needle work and made sure all the kids had decent clothes to wear. Bertha has always been Stacy’s right hand and could do anything in the fields or with the animals. Once their kids had grown, Stacy and Bertha would custom harvest in Kansas. Bertha would drive the truck and feed the crew three squares a day.
Bertha loved square dancing with Stacy as well as sewing, gardening, knitting, and canning. They were long time 4-H leaders and passionate about working with the 4-H kids and their projects.
Bertha was a sweet, loving, kind, and caring Christian person who had no enemies, and was a member of the Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband Stacy Sitton, their children, Linda (Dennis) Quigley of Bassett, Nebraska, Steve (Marcia) Sitton of Goodland, Kansas, Dean (Lucy) Sitton of Lebanon, Missouri, and Diane Chandler of Limon, Colorado.
