Obituary of Jacqueline J. Thelen

Jacqueline (Jacki) June Thelen age 84 of Hugo, Colorado passed away Monday, December 21, 2020. She was born October 25, 1936 in Denver, Colorado. She was the daughter of Harold and Lottie (Mark) Tuttle. She grew up in the Denver area and graduated from Alameda High School in 1954. On May 28, 1955, Jacki was united in marriage to Arthur Clemens Thelen in Denver, Colorado. They shared over fifty-six years of marriage. To this union they shared four children, Renee, Michel, Casey, and Susan. During their marriage Art and Jacki were stationed in Texas and Alaska. After serving in the Army, they moved southwest of Hugo, Colorado. Jacki enjoyed baking, making wedding cakes, knitting, crocheting, and caring for children. She enjoyed watching basketball, especially her Colorado Nuggets, and her grandchildren. Jacki was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. After a car accident, Jacki and family moved to the town of Hugo. Here she enjoyed sitting on the front porch to visit with everyone, crocheting, and doing puzzle books. She became Grandma Jacki to many people in town. She will remain in the hearts and thoughts of her family and friends forever. Jacki is survived by her children, Renee (Fred) Bletzacker of Hugo, Colorado, Casey (Renita) Thelen of Hugo, Colorado; and Susan Thelen of Fort Morgan, Colorado; her sister Kay Neckel of Loveland, Colorado, brothers Robert Wood of Fresco, Texas and James Wood of Loveland, Colorado; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and eighty-two foster children. Mrs. Thelen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Arthur Thelen; one brother, Fred Tuttle; son Michel Thelen; and one grandson, Eric Thelen.
