Obituary of Clifford E. Sweet

Clifford E. Sweet was born on March 24, 1927, along with his twin brother Clyde A. Sweet to George and Cora Sweet in Flagler Colorado. The twins were welcomed home by big brother Frank. Clifford attended Lutheran school in Flagler. In July of 1945, along with his twin brother Clyde, they enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. They served their county together and both were honorable discharged. After the military Clifford attend business school in Grand Island, Nebraska. Clifford worked in the oil industry in Wyoming and lived in many other states, but Flagler, Colorado was home. Clifford was a master carpenter, craftsmen, drywaller, masonry, farmer and entrepreneur. Clifford enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing cards, watching football and spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his brother, Frank Sweet, when he came to visit. Clifford was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. A very kind and thoughtful person, he was always lending a helping hand to a friend or a stranger in need. His presence will be greatly missed by everyone who truly knew and loved him. He took comfort in knowing that his eternity is with Jesus and that he will be with all his loved ones who had passed before him. Clifford E. Sweet left this earth to be with his heavenly Father, December 22, 2020. He was 93 years old. He was welcomed into his heavenly home by his wife Velma, grandson Travis Borden, parents, George and Cora Sweet, twin brother Clyde Sweet, sister-in-law Phyllis Sweet, brother Frank Sweet Sr. and sister-in-law Mary Sweet, nephew Robert Sweet Sr., and many other family and friends that have passed before him. He is survived by his son, Anthony (Jennie) Sweet, daughter Kathleen (Donald) Borden, grandson Christopher Borden, granddaughter Lona (Daniel) Lawrie and children; Stepchildren Judy Fagerlund and family, Darlene Heger and family, Beverly and Bill Stafford and family, Russell and Pat Sweet and family, Debra and Dick Brummond and family, Frank Sweet Jr. and family, The Eslinger family, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Forever in our hearts till we meet again.
