Obituary of James Rector

James Anton Rector was born March 6, 1936 West of Deer Trail, Colorado to Donald L. & Dora M. Rector. His childhood was spent around Agate, Colorado except for 2 years in Oregon. He graduated from Agate High School in 1955. He married Roberta Jean Layne on October 6, 1957 and to this union two children were born, Lannette Marie in 1958, and Dale Alan in 1961. Jim accepted Jesus as his Savior as a young man and he & Roberta had several Church Youth Groups over the years. Jim worked hauling and milking cows, doing construction, working at the missile base, and for the railroad. He went to work at the refinery in Commerce City as the Maintenance Supervisor for 27 years and retired in 1996. He and Roberta then took to traveling every chance they got. Taking trips to Hawaii, Alaska, and to one of their favorite places Branson, Missouri. His fishing buddy Glen and wife Kathy joined them on many of their traveling excursions. In his retirement he built from the ground up a 1931 Model A Ford Sedan and a 1931 Model A Ford Pickup. He had a love for old tractors and fishing. He was a very talented person mechanically and also in woodworking. If it could be fixed - he fixed it. Jim enjoyed his entire family and spending time with them every time he got the chance too. He was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Everett, and youngest brother Bill. He is survived by his wife Roberta, his younger brother Gary (Joyce), daughter Lannette (Melvin) Kitzman, and son Dale (Janet) Rector.
