Obituary of LeAndra B. Stang
LEANDRA BREANN STANG – It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Breann. After a sudden, heartbreaking illness, LeAndra Breann Stang, 23, passed peacefully from this life on October 18, 2020. Breann graced the lives of her parents, David and Amy (Hoefler) Stang, of Limon, Colorado, with her arrival on November 17, 1996, in Hugo, Colorado. She will long be remembered by those whose lives she touched with her loving heart and free spirit.
Throughout her short life, Breann lit up the world with her compassion, infectious laughter, and mischievous nature. An avid music lover and softball player, she spent her early years perfecting her French horn skills, singing in choir and school musicals, and animating the softball fields. She was a formidable first baseman, but what made her stand out was her camaraderie with teammates, cooperation with coaches, and exceptional sportsmanship. Breann’s selflessness and love for God and others showed in her actions. Always one to help, she would give clothes, food, gift, hugs, or advice to anyone in need, never thinking of herself first. Her giving nature would later prove to change her life when she received the opportunity to become a teacher’s assistant to what she would call “my 7th graders.” She loved “her kids” so much.
After graduating from high school in 2015, Breann attended college at McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She recently entered the master’s program for athletic training at the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth. Her academic achievements in college came first, but Breann always had time for friends, classmates, and family. She created an atmosphere charged with electricity and humor wherever she went, and her generosity and loyalty were two of her finest qualities.
Breann loved drawing and painting, makeup, her dog Champ, and NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski. Never suppressing her sense of humor, Breann was the first person to laugh if you tripped and fell, usually before asking if you were okay, offering her hand, and pulling you to your feet. She was her dad’s best Skid-Steer driver, the best piggyback ride giver, and the best sister anyone could ask for. Breann was beautiful, strong in faith, and talented, and we will always remember her for her passion, determination, and kindness. She can rest easy knowing that “everything will be okay,” which was one of her favorite mottos.
Breann is survived by her parents, Dave and Amy, brother, Landon, sister, Lauren, grandparents, Rich and Jennie Hoefler and Don and Bobbie Weber, aunts and uncles; Ronnie and Gari Hoefler and family, Fred Stang and family, John and LouAnn Schmidt and family, and Andy and Cindyrae Stang and family, Godparents Don and Marge Tracy, and a host of family and friends.
A graveside service will be held for family and friends at noon on Friday, October 30, 2020, at the Limon Pershing Memorial Cemetery in Limon, Colorado. Masks and social distancing are required.
