Obituary of Janet R. Steinke

Janet R Steinke(Bandy) 1942-2020 Janet was born January 3, 1942 in Limon, Colorado to Eullas (Bob) and Viola ( Schukar) Bandy. She enjoyed her childhood with her three brothers, Robert(Bob), John, & Curtis. Except for a few years she spent most of her life in Colorado. She graduated from Hugo High School in 1960 and many of her classmates remained lifelong friends. In 1960 she married Kenneth Steinke. They enjoyed their life together with their 2 daughters, Cynthia and Kenda. They were very close and enjoyed playing games, going on vacations and spending quality time together. Kenneth and Janet enjoyed living in Hugo, being involved with the community and spending time with close friends and family. They were in a number of card party groups and bowling leagues. Janet was blessed to have lived in Hugo for so many years and being surrounded by family and friends. Her parents and in-laws as well as brothers and their families all lived in Hugo throughout adulthood and enjoyed may good times together. Janet worked at the Hugo Bank for 20 years working her way up from Teller to VP of Operations. She retired from the Bank in 1993 to spend time with her husband who had terminal cancer. From 1993 until Kenneth’s death in 2000, they spent time traveling, camping, and with friends and family. Janet has shared her life with many and lived to see her family grow. At the time of her death she had 2 daughters, Cynthia Yowell of Hugo, and Kenda Weigang of Fort Collins, Son in Laws, Leroy Yowell of Hugo and Kirk Weigang of Fort Collins, 6 Grandchildren: Derek Olson and wife Briana of Las Animas, Tyler Weigang & wife Kaity of Windsor, CO Kenneth Weigang & wife Amber of Bentonville AR, Rachel (Weigang) Biggs & husband David of Fort Collins, Co Erin & Ashley Weigang of Thornton, Co, & Michael Weigang of Loveland, Co Janet has also enjoyed 11 great grandchildren, in addition to sister in laws, and other extended family. Janet is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Kenneth Steinke, her parents Eulas(Bob) and Viola Bandy, Brothers; John, Robert and Curtis Bandy, Her parent in laws, Reinhardt & Arline Steinke, brother in law Harland Steinke. Janet passed with family by her side on February 21 at the age of 78. She will be in heaven to celebrate her 60th Wedding Anniversary with the Love of her life Kenneth, and family there.
