Obituary of Johnny W. Jaklich
John W. Jaklich (Johnny) was born July 7, 1943 in Limon CO and was called to Heaven’s doors on December 9, 2019. He grew up in the Kutch community and attended grade school at Central. Afterwards he graduated from Simla Public School where he enjoyed playing football and baseball. At the age of three he fell very sick. His father shoveled snow for a quarter of a mile, where they met with Bus Grokett and a maintainer. After they reached the hospital in Pueblo, he was in critical condition and was baptized.
In 1965 he married Judy Boyle. To this union two children were born, Troy and Brenda. After their divorce he took over his father’s farm and ranch. In 1977 he married Linda Randolph. Together they purchased more land and built a cow herd he took pride in. A good horse and bay calved were his passion. Johnny was an avid horseman. Working on ranches in Eastern Colorado he learned from the best. The older cowboys were his heroes and became his best friends. They lived in a time where your handshake and your word was your bond.
After selling part of their ranch and moving to Limon he loved watching his grandkids participate in their sports. He was very proud of them. He also enjoyed hunting with family and friends. While he enjoyed hunting, it was the fellowship with them that he truly loved. He took pride in seeing nephews enjoying the sport.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda, son Troy (Stephanie) and daughter Brenda Benedict (Brandon), grandchildren Jenna, John, Jamie and Jacob Jaklich, Jaley and Jordyn Benedict also, surviving are special nephews Craig, Derek, and Shane Egbert, Wes, Ben and Bo Randolph. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ida (Miller) Jaklich.
