I met Carla in September of 2016 when I began at the DOC, she was then and was until the day she retired happy, enthusiastic and very helpful everyday I saw her. I genuinely enjoyed speaking with her and even when I had a bad day at work I always knew Carla was going to be ther to give me that last bit of hope to end the day on a good note. I would often sit with her after my shift and just have a conversation with her and after I would some how feel better. Carla was a ray of sunshine at the end of the day and will be greatly missed.

Bryan and Family, Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you with the loss of Carla. We didn't realize Carla had been ill, but know she was determined to beat the cancer. Lots of memories of the early days when you moved to Arriba and Jake and Elaina became friends. Memories that make us laugh and we were so fortunate to have your family as neighbors. Thankful that Carla is no longer suffering. Our love to you and your family.

To Bryan and the whole family. My heart aches with you and the entire family at this time. I think of you all....kids, grandkids, Carl and Delores, precious sisters and so many others. Marty and I kept you all in our prayers through Carla’s illness and will continue in prayer for you. I have fond memories of Carla as my sister in law so many years ago. Move over, St. Peter... Carla will make sure those arriving at the pearly gates are appropriately attired and are not dragging along items that they just don't need. So many conversations over the years, with Carla expressing amazement that apparently there were some folks that didn't have mirrors at home to see how they looked before coming out in public... we frequently agreed maybe we were getting too old for this "stuff" (and no, that's not what she said). Wonderful lady, you have earned your angel wings and your fight here on this good earth is over. Prayers to your family (those related by blood, and those tied to you in blue) and friends who feel this great loss but know that we'll see you again. Hopely, we'll be dressed appropriately and you can give us the nod. Much love to you all, Bryan and family!

Carla was always the first face that I saw starting my shift, and no matter her mood that day she always had my back. She knew the ins and outs of everything all the time. You couldn't sneeze without Carla knowing about it. She was always ready to be honest and real and was the voice of reason and love for many difficult times for me,she was like my work mom and I appreciated her so much, even when we'd butt heads. She is so loved and will be missed.

Carla and I had many talks, she gave me advice daily on things in life be it personal or professional. I remember my first day and Limon and her last day there. Her and I took a walk in the parking lot to talk about where life was going now. She was an amazing person, talked about her family daily, she was a strong fighter and I'm blessed to have had her in my life for all the years I got her. She will be greatly missed here on Earth. I know God received an Angel your family are all in my thoughts. Xoxox

Bryan and family, My deepest sympathy and condolences. A huge hole has been left here on earth for all who knew and loved her. Our sunrises and sunsets will be all the more beautiful because Carla is already re decorating the heavens. She will be one of the good Lords fiestiest angels. Anytime I see a sunset with crazy amounts of colors I will know she is saying hello. May time grant you peace and may you find laughter and comfort in your memories of her and the love she had for you all.
