Obituary of Leroy A Johnson

Leroy Andrew Johnson, 79 passed away May 14, 2019 at Aurora South Hospital in Aurora, Colorado.

He was born May 7, 1940 to Dagmar and Einar Johnson of Genoa, Colorado.

Leroy spent his youth on the family farm north of Genoa.  He attended grade school at Arickaree and graduated from Genoa High School in 1958.  He went to College at Colorado State University.

He married Wilda Jean Chubbuck on June 4, 1961 in Arriba, Colorado.  He worked then in Midland Federal Savings in Denver.  He later returned to the family farm north of Genoa.

Leroy served on the Genoa School Board and was also President.

Leroy was also a member of the Genoa Lions Club and served several terms as President and Secretary Treasurer.  He also served on the Walks Camp Church Board.

Leroy was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

Leroy is survived by his wife Wilda Jean of almost  58 years, his sons Andrew of Geona and Torrey also of Genoa. Three granddaughters, and four great-grandchildren. One sister Karen Johnson of Golden, Colorado. Many nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, Stephan, one brother, Stanley, one sister, Beverly and grandparents.  Hanna and Andrew Johnson, Clarence and Lillian Pratt.

Leroy loved his community and was very honored when the community helped him survive a tornado in 1999.

His life was fulfilled by the love of god.
