I first met Carleen when we were about five years old and she lived a few doors down from my babysitter. We had many good times playing together. I went to high school with her and was in Pep Club with her, and I also went to college with her and was in Spurs Honorary Sorority with her. We "hung out", had fun, and laughed together over the years. She and I stayed friends until the very end. It was sad to see her health deteriorate, but she always kept a positive attitude and a smile on her face!! I will miss our times together. She was a very special friend who will always have a place in my heart.
I am so sorry that I was unable to attend her celebration of life but snow and slick roads kept me away.

My heartfelt condolences for your loss of your loved one. Please find comfort in the knowledge that God promises to put an end to all the things that have plagued mankind for centuries including pain, suffering and death (Revelation 21:3,4). May these promises from God's word, the Bible give you comfort now and real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.

Carleen was a true gem. When I was a really little kid Carleen always came to our house to collect my sister and me on her way to church. Because of Carleen, we never missed. Then in High school, Carleen made every effort to keep me and my posse out of trouble every Friday and Saturday night, with some success, admit-tedly, but just as often she was a cohort as much as a savior. Loved her either way.
Later in life, I married a girl from Byers who also knew Carleen well. I had a chance to visit with Carleen when I attended a high school reunion with my spouse (former now) in 1985.
Carleen was so special. The world is now a lesser place.

Ms. Theel was such an impactful and influential figure - for me and for so many in Byers. She taught most of my cousins, uncles, aunts and me. As a shy second grader - she was compassionate and encouraging in my learning and quickly became and remained one of my favorite people ever. Her spirit, kindness, and one of a kind sense of humor still warms my heart. Whether it was singing I'm a Little Teapot, singing with Kingdom Singers, or getting her confetti filled Christmas cards - I will always treasure my memories of her. My sincere thoughts and prayers as words are not enough to express what she meant to me.

Carleen was a friend I went to school with from the time she moved to Alamosa. We were in Girl Scouts, Pep Club, attended sports events and basically made many memories together. We kept in touch through the years and I always so enjoyed her Christmas letters telling about her students. She truly loved her years of teaching and they were so lucky to have such a wonderful to influence their lives. I am so glad that Carleen was a part of my life. She will be truly missed by all.

Miss Theel was simply amazing. She was my 2nd grade teacher and her love of music was contagious! 35 years later I still sing some of the songs from her class to my son.
Miss Theel encouraged my singing abilities, and she was one of my leaders in Kingdom Singers as a high school student. We would laugh and tell jokes non-stop on some of these trips and that gold Duster.....well, we had to get a running start at the back entrance of Red Rocks to get it up that hill. It was so funny and she just laughed right along with all of us while we cheered on the old gold duster. So many fun memories of her throughout my childhood and beyond. May she rest in peace and may her family find comfort in knowing just how special she was to everyone.

Miss Theel had 2 of my grandsons in her class. Both of them left handed with terrible handwriting but she was diligent and determined to teach them to write legibly and she did! She will be terribly missed by all who knew her. She was one of a kind.

Miss Theel was my teaching partner for 10 years. I wouldn’t be the teacher I am today without her guidance and support. Even after retirement I would sometimes receive beautifully hand written notes or cards of encouragement. She was truly a loving person to the core. It’s hard to even fathom the amount of people she has influenced.

Thank you Carleen for your service to so many. Rest in Peace with our Lord Jesus Christ. Bill and Peg Sale

I know that Ms, Theel is singing with our Heavenly Father. She was such a special part of my childhood in Byers. I have so many special memories of her and that Gold duster trucking across Colorado in the summer with no air conditioner for Kingdom singer performances. Kingdom Singers was a safe place for me and my love of singing. My love and my memories will go on. Love and prayers to all the family and friends of this great lady!
