Kaye moved to the West as a teenager and quickly became enraptured with the wide open spaces, the magnificent beauty of the western United States, and Native American culture, art, history, and spirituality. She lived in Wyoming, her “heart home”, for thirteen years before moving to Colorado where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a conservationist and a lover of nature who believed in the protection and care of the earth. At a young age she developed an avid interest in the Colorado Plateau and spent many years studying the Plateau and its numerous historical and spiritual sites. As history buffs, she and her husband traveled extensively in and around the Colorado Plateau for a number of years, visiting such sites as Chaco Canyon, Canyon de Chelly, Mesa Verde, and many others. They also visited the national parks of the West, and toured most of the Army/Indian battlefield sites from the mid-to-late 1800’s.
Kaye was co-owner of Custom Homes by Wybe for ten years. She later worked as a Sr. and Executive Administrative Assistant for the remainder of her career.
She received her education in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming, and Colorado, but joked that she was a Roads Scholar.
At the request of the deceased there will be no funeral. A private Transition of Life Ceremony for immediate family members, relatives, and close friends will be arranged by the family.
