Obituary of Peggy Dolores Anderson

Peggy Dolores Anderson, age 84, passed away May 8, 2018 due to natural causes.  She was born April 15, 1934, in Colorado Spirngs, Colorado to Lawrence Murphy and Beatrice Marie Riffe.  
As a child, Peggy grew up in the Rush, Colorado area with two sisters and two brothers.  Peggy graduated in 1952 and later married Bob Anderson in Raton, New Mexico, on September 5, 1953.  
Peggy worked in the kitchen at the Miami Yoder school and the La Junta Jr. High as well as a homemaker and community volunteer.  She was one of the founders of the Helping Hands Pantry in Elicott.  She was a member of the Living Word Community Church in Calhan, Colorado, the United Methodist Church in Rush, Colorado, and also the First Southern Baptist Church in La Junta, Colorado.  Also, she was a member of The Eastern Star.  Peggy taught all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to play cards and card games.  She made life fun for all those around her and helped more people in her life than a person could count.  Peggy loved to help people in every they would let her.  
Peggy is survived by her siblings Kent Murphy and JoAnn Schmeizer of Florida; her children, Robert (Amy Jo) Anderson of Canon City, Colorado, Cyndi Spurlock of Yoder, Colorado, Debra (Daniel) Roberts of Genoa, Colorado, and Elizabeth (Marty) Hall of Falcon, Colorado; her grandchildren, Jason Roberts of La Junta, Colorado, Bryan Anderson of Loveland, Colorado, Michael Anderson of Thornton, Colorado, Joleen (Ryan) Roberts of Flagler, Colorado, Tonya Spurlock of Yoder, Colorado, Colton Spurlock of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Kinsey Hall of Falcon, Colorado.  Also surviving her are her great grandchildren, Savanah Boyd, Macy Kooser, Johnathan Kooser, Jeffrey Kooser, Riley Anderson, Zadan Anderson, and Irena Spurlock.  
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband Bob Anderson; parents Lawrence and Marie Murphy; as well as one brother and one sister.  

Visitation will be held at the Living Word Community Church on Saturday May 12, 2018 from 5:00-7:00p.m. 
A funeral service will be held Monday May 14, 2018 at 10:00a.m. at the Living Word Community Church in Calhan, Colorado.  Arrangements and services were handled by the Love Funeral Home in Limon, Colorado.
