Obituary of Evelyn Ione Carlson

Evelyn Claretta Ione Carlson a life long Genoa resident passed away September 06, 2005 at the age of 89 years in Aurora, CO. Evelyn was born on January 14, 1916 in Genoa, CO to Emil and Ida (Thompson) Johnson one of five children. She attended school through the 9th grade. Evelyn married Eric W. Carlson on August 06, 1935 in Genoa, CO and to this union two children were born. Evelyn was active in the Church Ladies Aid, Genoa Senior Center, RSVP and TOPS organization. She owned and operated a beauty shop in Genoa and Carlson’s Market for 44 years. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Eric, three brothers; Carl, Raymond and Victor Johnson and one sister; Iola Shoening. Evelyn is survived by her son Raymond Carlson of Lakewood, CO and daughter; Yvonne and husband Jerry Sweeney of Strasburg, CO and grandson Matt Sweeney of Strasburg, CO. Funeral services for Evelyn were held Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 3:00 P.M. in Genoa, CO at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Donald Schulz officiating with burial immediately following at the Genoa Lutheran Cemetery, Genoa, CO.
