Obituary of Victor Pappel
Victor J. Pappel, age 78 of Limon, Colorado passed away November 10, 2005 in Hugo, Colorado.
Victor was born May 13, 1927 in Walbeck, North Dakota to Clarence V. and Louise Dissrudd Pappel.
Victor married Darla R. Vannurdan on February 26, 1953 in Williston, North Dakota. To this union six children were born. Victor and Darla moved to Limon in 1969 with his job as a heavy equipment operator to build I-70 thru Colorado. The couple decided to make Limon their permanent home for their children to finish school.
Victor was a member of the Lutheran Faith. He enjoyed fishing hunting, camping and was a rock hound. He liked to read newspapers, the Readers Digest, and National Geographic. Victors pride and joy was his grandchildren whom he loved to spend time with.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Carol Pappel, and one son Victor Wayne Pappel.
Victor is survived by his wife Darla Pappel of Limon. Two sons Keith Pappel of Rapid City, South Dakota and Ron Pappel of Parker, Colorado. Three daughters Sheila and husband Dave McClellan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Bonnie and husband Richard Darling of Limon, Colorado, and Kris and husband Ronald Smith of Limon, Colorado. Also surviving is one sister Harriet and husband Dennis Metz of Denver, Colorado, eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 14, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Love Funeral Home in Limon with Frank Hoover officiating. Burial followed in the Pershing Memorial Cemetery in Limon.
