Obituary of Joann Robbins
Joann Marie (Plock) Robbins, formerly of Fairmont, NE, age 51, died January 13, 2006 at her home in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born in Geneva, Nebraska to Carl E. and Wilma M. (Philson) Plock on February 28, 1954 she was one of six children.
Joann was a 1972 graduate of Fairmont Public Schools. She received an Associates of Applied Science in Food Service Management from Southeast Community College in 1978.
Joann married David Moler on July 27, 1973 and to this union two children were born daughter Lisa and son Charles. She married Mark Robbins on December 15, 1989.
Joann was an active volunteer and leader of Camp Fire Girls. She served as Scout Master and Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scouts of America. She was a 4-H leader in Nebraska for Fillmore and Lancaster Counties. Joann had served as President of the American Diabetes Association in three counties in Nebraska. Joann was also active in Cornhusker Leathercrafters.
Joann was preceded in death by grandparents; William E. and Caroline E. (Fricke) Plock and Raymond G. and Hannah E. (Witter) Philson and father Carl E. Plock all of Fairmont, NE.
Survivors include mother; Wilma M. Plock of Fairmont, NE, daughter; Lisa and husband Dustin Peden and granddaughter Emily Peden of Mitchell, NE, son; Charles and wife Tammy Moler of Cozad, NE. Two sisters; Carolyn E. and husband Gerald Switzer of Nehawka, NE, Doris M. and husband Robert Schubert Sr. of Emmetsburg, IA. Three brothers; William R. Plock of York, NE, Glen C. and wife Joyce of York, NE, Larry E. and wife Rose of Deshler, NE; also many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Joann were held on January 20, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at Fairmont Community Church with burial at Fairmont Cemetery. Reverend Betsy Galloway-Carew presided over the service. Memorials are suggested to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 1540 S. 70th, Suite 104, Lincoln, NE 68506.
