I was home visiting my Mother, Pauline Cooper, who still lives on the farm at Preston and was sorry to see Dave's obituary in the Pratt paper. We had a lot of good times together growing up and I enjoyed visiting with Dave at the Alumni Banquet several times. He was a great guy and will surely be missed by many.

Just wanted to let you know how saddened I was to read of David's death. Pratt is my hometown and I knew David in the 1960's. I became acquainted with Dave while occasionally attending church at Cairo. I also attended Pratt Juco while he was there. I thought so much of him - he always had such a warm smile. When I was in the hospital with a broken leg he visited me several times and gave me an emotional lift. I have thought about Dave more than once over the years. I think he was a fine man and I know he'll be greatly missed. God bless.

We were saddened by the news of Dave's passing. Ginny's Dad is visiting and noticed it in the Pratt Tribune. We had a lot of good times there in Preston...and I have many fond memories of football and such.

We're so sorry to hear about Davey. Our family has great memories of your whole family and know that you will greatly miss him. After you all left Kansas, it was so good to see your Custom Cutting Crew come back in the summer. Davey always had that special grin and was so fun to talk to. My brother, Jay, looked forward to the crew's visits to Jay's Castle Inn to have a hot meal after a day of harvesting. Take care and condolences from The Gatz Family - Jessica Gatz; Jane, Bill, Kevin and Kathryn Biles; John, Aleta and Tyler Gatz; Jim, Cindy, Justin (wife, Kristi), Jenna, and Jacob Gatz; and Jay Gatz.

So sorry to hear of Davy's passing. He will be missed by many, I'm sure. I first met Davy and Bob many years ago while working at the Hiway cafe in Cunningham for Mary McClellan. Then my father and I bought the cafe and we had it for twenty some years. Every year we knew it was harvest time when the Harrel Boys showed up in town. Lots and lots of memories. After I left the cafe and went to Pratt to work, Davy would always stopped to say hello and visit whenever he was in town. I will remember him fondly. My thoughts are with those he leaves behind.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I have known Dave longer than I knew my dad. Dave was a good friend to my family and me. One of my fondest memories of Dave is that any time I would stop at the shop just to say "Hello" or have him check my tire pressure, he would always take me back to his office and show me the picture of him and Lief in front of the combine and tell tall tales. Dave was a great guy and a wonderful friend. I will miss having him as a part of my life as will many people. Sincerely, Christie (Thorson) Buchanan

Our prayers are with all of you,Davy leaves a very big hole to fill in this world. I'm sure he has already convinced the Lord to give him a big new pickup to drive around Heaven. I will never forget Davy, or what special friend he has been to our family. Sincerely, Julie

So sorry, first Ord and now Dave. What a plateful you have had. They will both be missed by many. Burlington visits for us without seeing Dave will feel strange. Just got the paper with the pie thing for his birthday. I still remember calling Bob that morning to tell him what we had planned and made him promise that he and Jerry would come to lunch with Davy to protect us just in case he got upset, of course he didn't, he probably enjoyed it more than anyone and we did have a Chocolate Pie for him to eat also. We will certainly miss our buddy Davy. He like the rest of the family are all wonderful people, including a certain one that always complained about having a bite missing from his sandwiches. Our love and prayers to all. George and Linda Tyrrell
