Obituary of Gareld Duncan
Gareld Eugene Duncan, age 78 of Limon Colorado passed away Monday, February 28, 2006 at the Prairie View Care Center in Limon.
Gareld was born September 21, 1927 in Crowley County, Colorado to Montie Kenneth and Edna Ellen (Walker) Duncan.
Gareld married Edna Blanche Miller on October 5, 1960 in Hugo, Colorado.
Gareld attended the Hugo United Methodist Church. He was a member of the National Rifleman Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Gareld was always there to help neighbors and was involved with many community projects in the Karval and Hugo communities.
Gareld while working in California was on the crew that cleared the property and moved the dirt for the construction of Disneyland. He worked for Lincoln County for over 20 years as primarily a heavy equipment operator. Gareld also drove truck, hauling livestock all over eastern Colorado.
Gareld was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers Melvin, and Montie.
Gareld is survived by a son Kenny and wife Kay Duncan of Limon, Colorado. Three daughters May and husband Gary Cook of Ft. Lupton, Colorado, Sharon Duncan of Joes, Colorado, and Donna and husband Hershel Stacey of Buford, Georgia. One sister Doris Carpenter of Falcon, Colorado. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday March 4, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the Love Funeral Home in Limon with Pastor Ron Clark officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in Hugo, Colorado.
