Obituary of Martha McBeth
Martha Ann McBeth was born on August 9, 1937, in Casey, Illinois, to her parents Raymond and Ethel McWilliams. Martha was the middle of five children. Sandra and Bill, both older and Peggy and Linda, both younger.
The McWilliams family moved from Illinois to Colorado during Martha's younger years. Her father was a minister and her mother was an artist/teacher. The family resided in the Denver area, where Martha grew up. After college, Martha met and married Arnold "Wayne" McBeth. From this union, they were blessed with four daughters; Diana, Joann, Susan and Erica.
The McBeth family moved from Colorado to California, but after several years, they knew their hearts belonged back in Colorado. The family then moved to Limon in 1979. Martha and Wayne divorced a few years after, but Martha remained in Limon, raising Erica and continuing her career in the hospitality industry. She began working for her brother at the Weathervane restaurant and ended her working career at Fireside Junction Restaurant.
Martha was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1993 and given only a slim chance of survival. With everything stacked against her, her courage, strength and determination prevailed. Martha was always a fighter and defied the odds. This is only one of the many stories like this throughout her lifetime.
Nothing was more important to Martha, than her family. She would always do whatever it took. Whether it was advise, a listening ear or just a shoulder, you could always count on her no matter what. She found a way to use her humor and wit, to keep things in perspective.
Martha lived a simple, yet fulfilling life. She persevered, when most might give in. However, her final fight was not to be won. God called her home on July 20, 2015, where she was greeted by those who were called before her; parents, Ethel and Raymond, sister, Sandra Pinnt; brother, Bill McWilliams; daughter, Joann Carroll; granddaughters, Jessica White and Trisha White; great granddaughter Makenna White; and son-in-law, Kenneth Deegan.
Martha was one of a kind and will be sorely missed by so very many. Martha is survived by her daughters; Diana White of Limon, Colorado, Erica Deegan of Limon, Colorado, and Susan Hendricks of Arizona. Eleven grandchildren; Shaun White, Cassandra Burns, Kyle Campbell, Garrett Campbell, Khoen Deegan, Tyler Deegan, Jordan Deegan, Luke Hendricks, Tonya McBeth, Monica Brown, Chantelle Boucher and eleven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Peggy Biggs and Linda Haun, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
