Obituary of Dr Milton Eidem
Dr. Lloyd Milton Eidem passed away on April 12, 2006 at North Colorado Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Lloyd was born August 31, 1942 in Colorado Springs to Ed and Norma (Kjosnes) Eidem. Lloyd was baptized and confirmed into the body of Christ at Walkâs Camp Lutheran Church north of Genoa, CO. He attended elementary school at Arikaree School, north of Genoa. He then attended and graduated from Genoa High School in 1960. Lloyd obtained his Bachelor Degree in Science in 1965 and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 1974.
In 1967, Lloyd married Dorothy L. Ramey in Elbert, CO. While completing their education, they farmed north of Genoa and did so for several years after graduation. Lloyd served his country in the CO National Guard. Lloyd then practiced veterinary medicine in Virginia and Indiana before moving back to Julesburg, CO. In Julesburg, Lloyd had a private practice specializing in large and small animal care. After selling his practice in Julesburg, Lloyd began working for the USDA. Lloyd completed his career with the USDA in Greeley, CO.
Lloyd was a member of the Lutheran Faith and the American Veterinary Medical Association. He was a past member of the Genoa Lions Club. Lloyd was a history buff, traveling to visit historical sites throughout the US. He enjoyed attending his sonsâ sporting events and other activities. Lloyd played baseball locally and was a well known pitcher. He later played baseball at CSU and remained an avid baseball fan throughout his life.
Lloyd and Dorothy Eidem had four sons: Doug, Lance, Nathan, and Justin.
Lloyd is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dorothy, his son Doug and wife Debbie and grandson Caleb of Jefferson City, MO, son Lance and wife Jessica of Rochester, MN, son Nathan and wife Jessica of Albany, OR, son Justin and wife Amber and granddaughter Maggie of Bayfield, CO. Lloyd is also survived by his sister Judy Bruch and her husband Wayne of Ft. Morgan, CO, and many loving family members and friends.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his mother and father.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on April 15, 2006 at the Love Funeral Home of Limon, CO with Pastor Tracey Breashears officiating. Burial was held at the completion of the funeral service in the Walkâs Camp Lutheran Cemetery north of Limon.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 14, 2006 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Love Funeral Home in Limon, CO.
