Melissa, We were saddened to get the news of Rocky's death, and especially that we did not get the news until after the service had been completed. When we left Burlington last year, Corey said that if that time came for Rocky, we would definitely go back for the services. Well, that did not happen and we regret that. What a brave and courageous man he was, and what an inspiration he was to the young kids in the area. Corey was so appreciative of his time with the softball program and it was obvious that the girls loved him. We send our thoughts and prayers your way, and just remember that Rocky is in a much better place now!

Dear Melissa, So sorry for your great loss in Rocky!! I want to say tho, in his short life he was an inspiration to all he touched. I remember times playing softball in Kirk and no matter how bad I looked playing, he always had something encouraging and nice to say. I also heard many girls talk that he coached, and they could only speak out of love and care for their coach!! All my prayers, Joye Devlin

To Melissa, John, Debbie and John, Jr., It was with saddness that I came upon Rocky's obituary. It is obvious that he lived all of his professional life as well and personal life with a vengence and a passion for making most of the time he had even before knowing about his illness. I visited with Rocky one time since he was diagnosed with the cancer scourge and that was as always, a treasured short visit. I have such fond memories of Rocky in my kindergarten class and he was a "winner" from his inception. John Jr., you will miss this brother, for sure. Melissa, I know you have many wonderful memories to hold close to your heart for the years you had with him. Mom and dad, what can one say....there is nothing to say except you have done a good job parenting and Rocky has left his positive imprint on all of our lives. I would guess he went into the last times just as vigorously as he did living unless he was just plainly "worn-out" from his struggles. He has a warm place in my heart, for sure, as well as your whole family and some cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents, too. With love, Joan Bonawitz jmusic.2@spearnet.net

Hello Deb, John, Melissa and family, I was so sorry to read about Rocky in the Loveland newspaper. I cannot even begin to imagine what you must be feeling. Both Jim and I feel so badly. However, take comfort in what a wonderful young man Rocky was. It is obvious that he never let his illness get him down. It sounds like he lived life to the fullest. Even though he was with you for a very short time, he left his mark on the world. I know words can never ease the pain, however, please know that we are thinking and praying for you. We send you all our love. Linda and Jim Hallock Loveland, CO
