Obituary of Ord Bailey
Ord Lon Bailey was born in Hale Colorado, on April 8, 1944 and passed away on June 23, 2006, at the age of 62. Ord was the youngest of nine children, born to Lude Lon and Gladys Alta (Runkle) Bailey.
The Bailey family resided in Hale Colorado, where the family worked and lived on the Devlin Ranch. The family moved to Eckley, Colorado when Ord was four years old. Ord then moved to Las Animas, Colorado at the age of five, shortly after moving to Grand Junction State Home and Training School.
In 1990 Ord was transferred to the Harold Group Home in Olathe, Colorado. Ord would come to visit the Alfred Bailey home around Thanksgiving and would stay until around New Years. Ord would also come and visit a month in the summer as well.
Ord enjoyed riding horses, dancing and playing sheriff. He also enjoyed country music, pictures and his bible. In 1996 Ord moved to DDI in Burlington, Colorado. He resided there until his death.
Preceding Ord in death were his parents, brothers Cleo Bailey and Alfred Bailey (guardian).
Ord is survived by his sister-in-law and guardian Wilma Bailey of Hugo, Colorado, sisters Eva Walker of Sidney, Nebraska, Della Ayers of Topock Arizona, Ivy Bollinger of Brush, Colorado. Brothers Eldon Bailey of Loveland, Colorado, Vet Bailey of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Jet Bailey of Hugo, Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
