Obituary of Leonard Clayton
Kit Carson County resident Leonard Darrell Clayton passed away on September 20, 2006 at his home in Burlington, Colorado. He was 64 years old.
Leonard was born on June 22, 1942 in Canadian, Texas to Luth and Dorothy Clayton.
He served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1974.
On February 12, 1970, Leonard married Marjorie (Windell) Clayton in Denver, Colorado. To this union two children were born Tracy and Steve Clayton.
He will be deeply missed by friends and family. He was a loving husband, dad, granddad and a wonderful friend.
Leonard was preceded in death by his step-mom Billie Clayton and sister Kay Orr.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie of the home, daughter Tracy Clayton of Loveland, Colorado, son Steve Clayton and wife Betty of Winchester, Virginia, one grandchild Amanda Clayton, two brothers Joe Clayton and wife Pat of Tijeras, New Mexico, Bill Clayton of Canadian, Texas, brother (Buddy) Albert Jr. Orr and two sisters Delana Davis, Nell Woodruff and husband Jack of Shamrock, Texas.
A memorial service was held on September 26, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Love Funeral Home with Joe Clayton officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made in his name and may be left at the First National Bank in Burlington, Colorado.
