Obituary of Minnie Meyer
Burlington, Colorado resident Wilhelmina (Minnie) Meyer age 96 passed away on November 2, 2006 at the Grace Manor Care Center in Burlington, Colorado.
Minnie was born on August 21, 1910 in Chicago, Illinois to Fred and Anna Ferwerda. She married Bill Green and to this union two sons were born, Charles William Green and James Raymond Green. In 1954 she married Harold F. Meyer and they moved to Burlington, Colorado in 1976.
Minnie was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington and a member of the Lutheran Womenâs Mission League. While living in Illinois she was active in church and the American Legion Auxiliary and held a number of leadership positions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Anna Ferwerda; her husband Harold F. Meyer; one son James Raymond Green; her brothers Charles, Raymond and Harold; and her sisters Bernice and Genevieve.
Survivors include her son Charles Green and wife Sue of McCook, Nebraska; granddaughter Heather Harvie and husband Jerry of McCook, Nebraska; grandson Brendan Green and wife Rachelle of Denver, Colorado; great grandsons Drew and Dylan Harvie of McCook, Nebraska; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Viergutz officiating. Inurnment will be at the Woodland Cemetery in McHenry, Illinois.
Memorials may be made in Minnieâs name to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund and may be left at the Bank of Burlington, Burlington, Colorado.
