Sarah Frances (Fran, Billie, Meme) Hyde, 93, of Parker, CO passed away January 31, 2007.
Fran was born August 14, 1913 north of Vona, CO to Grover and Hulda (Stevens) Garnhart, one of nine children.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ben, sister, Mary, brothers; James, Pete, Bobby, Fred, George and Bill, brother-in-law Paul Hyde and sister-in-laws; Loretta, Beulah, Mina and Nadine.
Fran is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Larry Mangus of Burlington, brother Carl (Red) and wife Alice of Colorado Springs, sisters-in-law Marie of Arvada, Mary of Limon and Alice of Colorado Springs. Fran is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Michelle and husband Jerome Merlau and their daughters, Emily and Sydney of Cedar Hill, TX, Michaela Meyers of Parker, Lori and husband Keith Schwendeman and children Dillon and Cole of Lakewood, Michael and wife Audra Mangus and children, Meghan, Kaylee and Keenan of Larkspur, and Jennifer and husband Ross Butchart and daughter Leiana of Lakewood.
Fran will be missed by her numerous nieces and nephews and many friends and neighbors.
Fran grew up in Vona and Limon where she graduated from Limon Union High School in 1931. She sang in all the choirs at the school and in the First Baptist Church of Limon where she was a long time member. Fran also sang on the radio as part of Brick and Billie with her sister Mary. Music was a large and happy part of her life.
Fran worked at the Pueblo Army Depot (PAD) during WWII as a hostess in the officerâs cafeteria. After the war Ben and Fran returned to Limon where Fran lived until 1970.
She returned to Pueblo after her second marriage to Ben in November 1970 and lived there until 1996 when she moved to Parker due to Benâs failing health and to be close to her daughter, Debbie and son-in-law, Larry. At that time her sister Mary also moved to Parker to live with Ben and Fran.
Fran was involved as Mom of the Bethel of the Jobeâs Daughters Bethel of Pueblo and the First Baptist Church of Pueblo. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting and many other crafts. Fran loved being with her family and friends.
After Benâs death Fran took care of her sister, Mary until Maryâs death. Fran then moved to the Victorian House Assisted Living where she resided until her death.
A Memorial service will be held for Fran on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Life in Christ church in Limon, CO at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in Pueblo at a later date.
