Obituary of Janette Yowell

Janette (Higgins) Yowell passed away on March 29, 2007 in Denver, Colorado.
Janette Bernice Higgins Yowell was born into the Higgins family October 13, 1961 in Shamrock, TX.
In 1968 she moved with her family from Texline to Limon, Colorado. As a little girl Janette was baptized into the Lordâs church in August 1973. She continued to be very active in the Church of Christ where she had been a member for 33 years. For the last five years Janette has hosted a community Bible study in her home.
Janette graduated from Limon High School in 1980. She then went on to attend two years at Oklahoma Christian College to Study Early Education.
Janette married Alan Yowell on September 5, 1982 in Limon at the Church of Christ. To this union were born three children; Michael born January 5, 1987, Tyler March 12, 1990 and Shonda was impatient being two months early on June 17, 1994.
Janette drove the school bus for the Genoa-Hugo School District as well as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. She had a daycare for many years in her home in Hugo. Janetteâs true love was working with the school and children of all ages.
On March 15, 1997 Janetteâs life would be forever changed by a car accident. This may have left her wheelchair bound but it did not affect her spirit and will to continue the things she enjoyed and loved so much. Janette believed in running the race set before her and finishing the good fight. Janetteâs love for people and how she overcame this trial is a true testament to her true character.
Janette is survived by her three children, Michael, 20; Tyler, 17; and Shonda, 12 of Hugo, CO. Her father and mother, John & Bernice Higgins of Limon, CO, brother James Higgins of Falcon, sister Janie (Higgins) Helmuth and husband Dan of Oklahoma City, OK, brother John Higgins and wife Brenda of Genoa, seven nieces and three nephews, two great nephews and many cousins.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 2, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Genoa-Hugo Public School with Lee Fisher officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in Hugo.
Visitation was held at the Love Funeral Home in Limon on Sunday, April 1, 2007 from 3-5 p.m.
