Our condolences to the family of Ralph Wilks. I met him over the phone about a year ago, in my search to find the family of Effie Wilks(Gray). I talked to him for several hours, and found him to be warm, considerate, and full of wonderful memories of his younger days, and the family around him. I also appreciated his stories of his time during WWII, defending the Alaska Islands. One of his most interesting stories was about the advent of the telephone service. Our Cousin, David Clark, was a major part of bringing the first telephone network (with the plug-in switchboard) to SouthWestern Missouri. He also recalled the first time he rode in a vehicle without a horse pulling it. His memories brought a large and important part of my family to life for me, and I am forever greatful for my time shared with him.
