Obituary of Shirley Wyckoff
Shirley Elizabeth Wyckoff, 85, of Centennial, Colorado passed away on May 31, 2007 in Denver, Colorado.
Shirley was born on November 24, 1921 in Washington County, Colorado to Francis Presler and Anna (Sutton) Presler. Shirley attended school until her eighth grade year.
Shirley married Jay D. Wyckoff on September 1, 1939 in Genoa, Colorado. The couple made their home north of Genoa on the family farm until 1974 when they moved to Arizona. Following the death of Jay in 1994 Shirley remained in Arizona until 2004 when she moved to Centennial to be closer to her children.
Shirley enjoyed playing cards and reading, autobiographies were her preference. She was a member of the Genoa Womenâs Community Club. Shirley also sold Avon for thirty-five years.
Shirley was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Jay D. Wyckoff, one infant son Vernon Wayne, one brother Francis Presler, and one grandson Jeff Hebertson.
Shirley is survived by her sons; Gary Wyckoff of Englewood, Colorado, and Carlton and wife Sharon Wyckoff of Sterling, Colorado, as well as her daughters; Virginia and husband Bob Jaramillo of Denver, Colorado, and E. Arlene and husband LeRoy Terry of Centennial, Colorado. She is also survived by her sisters Margery Boyer of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Ruth Mehring of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A funeral service for Shirley will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lindon Baptist Chruch in Lindon, Colorado with Reverend Frank Presler, officiating. A visitation will occur and hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Glen Cemetery south of Lindon.
