Wayne Delmer Daberkow, age 60, of Flagler, Colorado passed away June 28, 2007 in Flagler.
Wayne was born July 26, 1946 in Flagler, Colorado to Ernest and Alma (Lange) Daberkow.
Wayne grew up and attended Flagler Public Schools graduating in 1964. The week following graduation Wayne entered the United States Army in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He served in the Vietnam War and then chose to make the military his career. He attained the rank of Sergeant First Class and was honorably discharged on September 30, 1987, after 22 years of service. He then moved to Paul, Idaho where he began a new career as the Chief of Security for Ore-Ida Foods. To broaden his horizons even more, he attended CSI Technical School were he received his Associates Degree in Diesel Mechanics. When Watco Companies bought railroad property from the Union Pacific Railroad the opportunity arose for him to go railroading. Wayne jumped at the chance of fulfilling his life long dream of being an engineer.
Wayne married Ursula Poschezek on May 24, 1982 in Ruedesheim, Germany.
A few of Wayneâs hobbies were fishing, woodworking, gold prospecting, computers and reading. He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his family as often as he could. Wayne was a natural born teacher who shared his knowledge of all subjects freely and willingly.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Marilyn.
Wayne is survived by his wife Ursula of Flagler, Colorado; children Mark of Pocatello, ID, Patrick and wife Danielle of Lawrenceville, GA, Christopher of Colorado Springs, CO, Christine and husband Allen Satra of Flagler, CO, Deborah of Colorado Springs, CO, and Darlene of Flagler, CO. One brother Donald Daberkow of Greeley, CO and one nephew Terry Perkins of Evergreen, CO. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren Shilee, Anneliese, Michaela, Marcus, Julie, Corinne, Noelle, Massey, Dillon, Fayth, and A.J.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Flagler, CO with Pastor Bob Strauch officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held following the service at the Flagler Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Church one hour prior to the funeral service.
