Obituary of Harold Gotschall

Harold Dale Gotschall, 69, of Calhan, Colorado passed away in Loveland, Colorado at the Medical Center of the Rockies with his family by his side on July 6th, 2007.
Dale was born on October, 28th, 1937 in Karval, Colorado to Jerome and Violet (Harris) Gotschall. Dale was the second of three boys in the Gotschall family. He attended elementary and secondary school in Hugo and Karval and graduated from Hugo High School in 1958, Dale then went on to barber school.
Dale married Evelyn Pearl Frazier in Rush, Colorado on October 16, 1960. To this union, four children were born. The couple raised their family in Calhan, Colorado.
On November 22, 1960 Dale was drafted into the United State Army just five weeks after his marriage to Evelyn. He was stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas, and Korea, and was honorably discharged on November 2, 1962.
Dale owned and operated a Barber Shop in Simla and Calhan from 1963 to 1974. He then went to work for the El Paso County Highway Department. He worked as a Foreman for the Highway Department until 1995 when an illness caused him to retire.
Dale was a member of the Living Word Community Church in Calhan, a past member and president of the Calhan Lions Club. He served the Calhan community on the Calhan Volunteer Fire Department, the Calhan Sewer Board, and as a Calhan City Counsel Member.
Dale loved his family very much. Some of his favorite hobbies were watching his grandchildrenâs sporting events and rodeos. He also enjoyed yard-work and fishing. Dale never knew a stranger as he liked visiting with every person that he met
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and Violet Gotschall.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn (Frazier) Gotschall of Calhan, Colorado. Dale is also survived by all four of his children; Doran and wife Pam Gotschall of Peyton, Colorado. Derek and wife Keysa Gotschall of Laramie, Wyoming, DaLynn and husband Scot Walker of Windsor, Colorado, and DeAnn and husband Greg Scherrer of Limon, Colorado. Dale is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Ashley and her husband Chad Malcom, Shayley and her husband John Garcia, Zach Scherrer, Bradey Scherrer, Tanner Walker, Dalton Walker, Brockston Gotschall, Treyele Gotschall, and Hunter Gotschall. Surviving brothers are Donald and wife Marion Gotschall of Juneau, Alaska, and Larry and wife Sara Gotschall of Hugo, Colorado, two nephews Gordon, and Gerald, and one niece June.
Visitations will be held Monday, July 9th, 2007 from 1-4 P.M. at the Love Funeral Home in Limon, Colorado.
Daleâs funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10th, 2007 at the Living Word Community Church with Pastorâs Rick Cofer and Greg Scherrer officiating. Burial will follow in the Eastonville Cemetery near Peyton, Colorado.
