Edith Thelma Flynn, 74, of Colorado Springs died Tuesday, July 10th, in Colorado Springs.
She is survived by her beloved husband Tom, and three loving children, Margie Karchut, of Colorado Springs; Terry Kirby, (wife Melody) of Colorado Springs, and Kevin Kirby (wife Vicky) of Colorado Springs. Eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was known as "Thelma" to her many friends. Thelma was born in Genoa, Colorado, to Ted and Emma Knutson, growing up on the family farm with four brothers and sisters. She attended school at Union and Genoa. Thelma was funloving & outgoing. She delighted in shopping for, and refinishing antique furniture. She and Tom sold antiques in the Colorado Springs and Denver area for many years. Her real passion was for dolls, and was a member of Doll Dreamers Doll Club locally. You would usually find Thelma and Tom playing slots in Cripple Creek on weekends.
Thelma was preceded in death by husband Bob Kirby, married in Genoa December, 1950- March,1964; parents Ted and Emma Knutson; grandaughter Nissa Ann Karchut; and brother Oscur Knutson.
Thelma married Tom Flynn February 28, 1969 in Colorado Springs. They resided in Colorado Springs and Monument, Colorado.
Other family members are; brother, Don Knutson (wife Della) of Genoa, Colorado; sister, Elnore Bandy, Limon, Colorado; sister Betty Wann of Arriba, Colorado, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 13th from 1-4 p.m. at Love Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14th, at Zion Lutheran Church 408 H Ave, Limon, Colorado
