Obituary of Helen Gramm
Helen Gramm, 93 years old, passed away at the Kit Carson County Hospital in Burlington, Colorado January 12, 2008. She was born on November 22, 1914 as Helen Anna Tinsley to Daniel Franklin Tinsley and Mary Elizabeth Rohrgas Tinsley in Hebron, Nebraska.
Helen attended school from 2nd grade through junior college in Phoenix, Arizona. She graduated from Phoenix Union High School in May 1932 and from Phoenix College in May 1934.
Helen married Arthur E. âArtâ? Gramm January 1, 1935 in Florence, Arizona. While living in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Laura Jeanne was born. They then lived in Cripple Creek, Colorado and Florence, Colorado. After moving to Clayton, New Mexico, Arthur Lee and Betty Ann were born. Vivian Lynette was born in Pueblo, Colorado where they lived from September 1946 through December 1995. They move to Cottonwood, Arizona in January of 1996. They resided there until August of 1998 when they moved to Burlington, Colorado.
Helen was a long time member of Central Christian Church in Pueblo and attended the First Christian Church in Burlington. She was also a member of Adah Chapter #34 Order of Eastern Star in Pueblo.
Art and Helen were married for 63 ½ years before Art passed away in 1998. Also preceding Helen in death were her father and mother Daniel and Mary Tinsley, her sister Olive Marie Kelsay, and her infant son Arthur Lee Gramm.
Survivors are her three daughters, Jeanne and Bill Oldfather of Cottonwood, Arizona, Betty and Dave Corliss, north of Bethune, Colorado, and Vivian and Don Moon of Holton, Michigan. Also surviving her are two grandsons, five granddaughters, four great grandsons, five great granddaughters, and one great great grandson.
Memorial services for Helen will be held on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the First Christian Church, 1564 Senter Street, Burlington, Colorado, with Reverend Warren Turner and Pastor Roger Milheim officiating. A luncheon will follow after the service. Burial will then take place at the Hope Congregational Church Cemetery, 40981 County Road GG, Bethune, Colorado.
Memorials may be in her name to the First Christian Church and may be left at or sent to the Bank of Burlington, PO Box 427, Burlington, Colorado 80807.
