Obituary of Noble Maskus
Noble Dean Maskus born in Dodge City, Kansas, March 9, 1942, passed away January 20, 2008 at home.
Noble and his folks came to Bovina when Noble was 3 years old. He attended school in Arriba and was confirmed at the Christ Lutheran Church north of Genoa in February 1955. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Arriba, CO.
Noble loved the land and farming, he also enjoyed woodworking. When the Vietnam War came Noble thought he should defend our country. He served in the army for 2 years. Noble was wounded and received the Purple Heart. After serving his country Noble returned to his love of farming. He took care of his mother until her death.
Noble Maskus and Avis Einspahr were married March 20, 1993 in Arriba, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Pauline Maskus and brother Neil Maskus.
Noble is survived by his wife, Avis. Stepsons; Mark (Marie) Taylor of Fowler, CO, Brian (Jill) Taylor and children Kendra and Kyle of Manzanola, CO, Michael (Debbie) Taylor of Genoa, CO and Don (Marie) Taylor and their son Timmy of Great Bend, KS. Brother Milton (Frances) Maskus of Karval, CO, sisters; Lorene Spohr of Dodge City, KS and Marilyn (Don Freeman of Colorado Springs, CO, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service for Noble will be held on Friday, January 25, 2008, 10:30 A.M. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Arriba, CO with Pastor James Elmshauser officiating. Interment will follow at the Arriba Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2008 from 1-4 P.M. at the Love Funeral Home in Limon, CO.
