Obituary of Theodore Evanoika

Theodore âTedâ? Evanoika, age 71, of Calhan, Colorado, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ted was born February 28, 1936 to Steve and Anna (Eurich) Evanoika in Ramah, Colorado. He was one of six children. Ted attended school in Ramah, graduating in 1954. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army, proudly serving his country until being honorably discharged in December 1960.
Ted married Carole Michel on April 17, 1962. To this union two children were born, son Lee and daughter Lori. The family made their home in the Calhan area where Ted owned and operated Tedâs Custom Leathers, making saddles and other custom leather products.
Tedâs favorite pastimes included his horses, team roping, ranching and spending time with his grandkids.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Steve and John.
He is survived by his wife, Carole Evanoika of Calhan, Colorado; son Lee (Robin) Evanoika of Peyton, Colorado and their children Shelby and Ashley Evanoika; daughter, Lori (Tim) Ellefson of Simla, Colorado and their children Torrie and Tanna Boyle and Hagen Ellefson; brothers George (Betty) Evanoika of Peyton, Colorado and David (Peggy) Evanoika of Montrose, Colorado; sister Elizabeth (Ray) Brooks of Peyton, Colorado; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, his sisters in law, brother in law, cousins and extended family.
A Memorial Service for Ted will be held on Tuesday, January 29th, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Living Word Community Church in Calhan, Colorado.
A private family burial was held prior to the service.
