Obituary of Mary Golding

Mary Elizabeth (Schuster) Golding was born July 21, 1925 at the family Farm south of Simla, CO to Herman Edward Schuster and Grace Belle (Sherer) Schuster, and departed this life on October 31, 2008.
Mary graduated as the Valedictorian of her high school class in 1943 from Alta Vista School. While in high school she received a Gold basketball for being all county forward. Later she attended the University of Southern Colorado with a degree in Behavorial Science and Education in 1973. She was also a Reading Specialist. Mary taught school for many years in eastern El Paso County, also in Elbert County. She continued in education by doing individual tutoring for students with medical issues and enjoyed substituting occasionally.
Maryâs family always came first. As a mother she was affectionate, tender, generous and kind. She was always there for her children and grandchildren. They spent many hours playing games. Mary enjoyed traveling and visiting with her friend, Freda Corder. Mary was an accomplished musician and played the piano, organ and accordion. Her favorite entertainer was Charlie Pride.
Mary loved to work in the garden and always grew the most beautiful flowers. She was a Sunday School teacher, member of Delta Kappa Gamma teachers sorority, member of Alta Vista Home Demonstration Club, 4-H Leader and Flower Judge for El Paso County Fair.
Preceding Mary in death were her father and mother, brothers Glen, Jack, Herbert and sister Beulah Wilson, and daughter-in-law Corrine Golding.
Surviving family members are sons; Ed and Frances Golding of Calhan, CO, David Golding of Rush, CO and daughter Linda Sue Golding of Laramie, WY five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother-in-law Amos Wilson of Peyton, CO and sisters-in-law Irene Schuster of Simla, CO and Evelyn Schuster of Colorado Springs, CO.
A funeral service will be held for Mary on Friday, November 7, 2008, 10:00 A.M. at the Love Funeral Home Chapel, Limon, CO.
