Obituary of Glenda Hill

Glenda Lea (Priest) Hill was born on October 8, 1934 in Meade, Kansas. She left this life peacefully on November 3, 2008.
Glenda was the daughter of the late Luther and Blanche Priest. She had an older half sister Jackie Roche (deceased) and a brother Warren Priest (deceased). She attended elementary school in Pueblo, Colorado and returned to Ulysses for her high school years.
She met Thomas Martin (Tommy) Hill and they were married on February 7, 1954. They lived in Ulysses until October 1958 at which time they moved to Genoa, Colorado to pursue a career farming and ranching.
To this union four children were born: Glenn Thomas (deceased), Thomas Martin II, Melanie Sue and Michelle Belynn.
Glendaâs years were spent working as a farmwife and mother. She helped out whenever needed on the farm. As her children grew, she did many things. She bowled on a league for several years. She worked in the local school cafeteria as a cook. She was very active in the United Methodist Church of Genoa and stressed the importance of Christianity to her children.
Glenda and Tommy spent many years attending activities of their three children during their high school years. They were also very active in Lions Club International and when it became possible, she joined the Lions Club. They met and made many friends while members of Lions Club.
After Tommyâs death in 1994, Glenda decided she needed to work to help occupy her time. She worked as a desk clerk at a motel in Limon. She enjoyed working and meeting the different people that would come through.
Glenda moved to Limon in November of 2004. She enjoyed visiting with her friends and spending time with her family especially her great granddaughters.
Preceding her in death is husband Tommy, son Glenn Thomas, her parents, sister and brother.
Glenda is survived by son Martin and Wendy Hill of Denver, CO; daughter Melanie Hill of Ulysses, KS; daughter Michelle Hill of Denver, CO; grandson Tom and his daughters Isis and Olivia Hill of Hugo, CO; step granddaughters Holly and Stephanie and their children of Limon, CO; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2008, 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Limon, CO.
