Obituary of Pete Siruta
Peter âJr.â? Andrew Siruta, II passed away on November 16, 2008 at the Logan County Hospital in Oakley, Kansas. He was 67 years of age.
Jr. was born on May 24, 1941 to Peter Andrew and Susan (Andrewjeski) Siruta in Thomas County, Kansas. He was one of twelve children born to this union.
He went to school in Levant, Kansas. He graduated from Brewster High School in 1959.
Jr. entered the United States Army in July of 1959 and served for three years. He was honorably discharged in July of 1962.
Jr. enjoyed many hobbies such as horseback riding, farming and ranching.
He met and married Gail Young on November 22, 1986 at the 1st St. Paulâs Lutheran Church in Burlington.
Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, one son Short Siruta, three sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Siruta, one son Andy Siruta and his wife Marla and two grandchildren, McCellan and McClain of Jefferson, Iowa. He also survived by two sisters, Carol Jueneman and her husband Rich of Burlington, Colorado, Helen Jueneman and her husband Don of Leoville, Kansas, three brothers, Bob Siruta of Levant, Kansas, Chuck Siruta and his wife Sandy of Wichita, Kansas, and Kenny Siruta of Goodland, Kansas, two sister-in-laws Bonnie Siruta of Winona, Kansas and Marilyn Siruta of Rural Kansas, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Jr. were held on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the First St. Paulâs Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul McNall and Pastor Jeff Hanson officiating. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery, Burlington. Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Love Funeral Home in Burlington.
Memorials may be made in Peteâs name to the Juvenile Diabetes and may be left at the Love Funeral Home, Burlington, Colorado.
