Obituary of Wanona Foth
Wanona Pauline (Beltz) Foth was born on July 9th, 1930, in Hutchinson, Kansas to Henry and Alvera Beltz. She departed this life peacefully on September 29, 2009 in St. Anthony Hospital in Denver, Colorado at the age of 79.
She grew up on a farm in Ramona, Kansas. At the young age of 16, she met her soul mate and husband of 62 years, Franklin Foth. They were married on July 3, 1947. To this union two children were born, Sonja Louise (Foth) Gerlock on July 15, 1948 and Ted Alan Foth on Dec. 1, 1957.
After Frank and Wanona were married, they moved to Hillsboro, Kansas, where Frank worked for Southwestern Bell and Wanona was a homemaker. Later they transferred to other towns in Kansas till in 1952 they transferred to Boulder,Co. with Mountain Bell Telephone.
Being a housewife came easy to Wanona as she was a master seamstress and was well know for her creative ability to alter clothes or sew everything from elegant dresses to Leather Sports Jackets. She also loved to crochet and knit and eagerly tried new patterns. Christmas time was very traditional for Wanona as she gave everyone a Christmas tree ornament and the family always looked forward to her special fudge.
They then moved to Burlington, Colorado in 1968, where her and Frank purchased a farm north of Burlington. Wanona began working for W-B Drug Store and remained there for several years. She also spent a great deal of her time spoiling her Grandchildren. Each and every one of them have something she crochet for them or sewed with them in mind. During her years at the farm, Wanona enjoyed raising a garden with Frank and loved to can what she raised. Those who knew her well knew that she seldom would sit idle. She knew how to work and always had some sort of project in the works. This was evident when she came out of retirement to work as the bookkeeper at Ted's Paint and Auto body for five years with her son.
Most of all, Wanona was a caregiver and saw to it that her family was always taken care of. She always made time to support them, wether it was just having a chat, or attending softball or baseball games, watching them show animals at the fair or taking a trip to visit out of town family. She adored her children and grandchildren and was so very proud of their accomplishments. Her hugs were plentiful and her upbeat spirit will live on in those who loved her.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, her Sister Georgia Berry, her infant brother Henry Beltz, Jr., and her four year old sister Ruby Beltz..
She leaves to morn her husband of 62 years, Franklin Foth, Her daughter Sonja Gerlock and husband Edwin of Missouri, Son Ted Foth and wife Carla of Burlington, Colorado. Grandsonâs Jeff Owens and wife Sandra and children Stephanie and Sabrina, of Missouri. Andrew Foth of Burlington and Granddaughters Chelsey and Lindsey Foth of Burlington and Melanie and husband Steve Cielinski and children Devin and Cyera of Glenrock, Wyoming.
