Obituary of Raymond Warren
Burlington, Colorado resident and former Chicago, Illinois resident passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital in Burlington. He was 87 years old.
Raymond was born on April 21, 1922 in Denver, Colorado to William and Ellen (Powers) Warren. He was one of three children. He attended school in Chicago and graduated in 1942. He then went on and attended college at Marquette University.
On June 24, 1945, Raymond married Mary Evelyn Reuteman in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. To this union eight children were born; Kathleen, Diane, Patricia, Dan, Mike, Pat, Jim and Mary Pat.
Raymond served in the United States Navy, in which he made a career out of and retired with the rank of Commander in 1985. He was a member of the St. Catherines Catholic Church in Burlington, Knights of Columbus in Chicago, Naval Reserves in Chicago and taught classes at Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, three daughters Kathleen, Diane, and Patricia, and one brother William and one sister Jeanette.
He is survived by his wife Mary of the home, four sons Dan Warren and his wife Aileen of North Woods, Illinois, Mike Warren and his wife Mary of Forest Knolls, California, Pat Warren and his wife Tina of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and Jim Warren and his wife Carol of Wheaton, Illinois; daughter Mary Pat Weingardt and her husband Doyle of Burlington. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and one sister Mary Catherine Olson of Chicago, Illinois.
Private family memorial services for Raymond were held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Love Funeral Home in Burlington with Father Ernie Bond officiating. Cremation followed the service.
