Send Flowers William E. Meyer
April 15, 1915 - March 26, 2010
William Edward Meyer, 94, of Bennett, CO passed away on March 26, 2010 at Aurora South Medical Center in Aurora, CO.
William was born on April 15, 1915 to Dick and Sophia (Hessemeyer) Meyer, one of five children, in Imperial, NE. He attended school through the eighth grade, after which he began his life long career in farming.
William married Vivian R. Molzahn in Las Vegas, NV on September 24, 1941 and the couple was blessed with three children. He loved the land and was passionate about farming, even with the struggles that it included.
William enjoyed fishing, collecting miscellaneous things, driving the country side looking at the wheat crops, and his weekly outing to the grocery store, where he would enjoy the guilty pleasure of a snickers blizzard, often reflecting on how he used to drive to the Dairy Queen in Last Chance, CO where he was able to buy one for 25cents.
William was preceded in death by his parents, his son Albert, and three brothers; Henry, Fred and Alvin Meyer.
He is survived by the love of his life for 68 years, Vivian of Bennett, CO and his children; John (Janet) Meyer of Douglas, WY and Dianne J. Meyer of Bennett, CO, along with nine grandchildren and 21 great-grand children . William is also survived by his sister Helen Acerino of Denver, CO along with several nieces, nephews and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to pray for a fruitful harvest, as that is what Bill would have wanted
