Obituary of Marjorie Williamson
Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident Marjorie Williamson passed away on June 22, 2010 at the Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital in Burlington. She was 87 years old.
Marge was born on March 31, 1923 in Neosho, Missouri to James Elexander and Cecilia (Hoffman) Williams. She was one of seven children. In 1932, Marge was baptized into the First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Marge grew up and attended school in Moberly, Missouri and graduated in 1941 from Moberly High School.
On February 7, 1942, Marge married Arthur Eugene Williamson in Little Rock, Arkansas. To this union, one daughter Delores was born.
Marge and Gene owned and operated The Hotel West from 1954 to 1971. When the hotel sold, Marge and Gene began traveling to Branson, Missouri in the winter, enjoying fishing, stage shows and meeting new friends. Marge enjoyed crocheting afghans and many other crafts. Marge loved and enjoyed her family and was always eager to hear of her grandchildren and great grandchildrens antics.
Marge was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by her daughter Delores Jacobson and her husband Larry of Burlington, two granddaughters Lori Diaz and her husband Victor of Burlington and Leann Carlin and her husband Grant also of Burlington, and four great grandchildren; Tyler and Amanda Diaz and Lance and Chad Carlin. Marge is also survived by three sisters; Annetta Swartz of Columbia, MO, Norma Petersen of Crane, MO and Leona Smith of Bentonville, AR, three brothers; James (Bud) Williams and his wife Theora of Pasco, WA, Lowell Williams and his wife June of Neosho, MO, and John Williams and his wife Ilene of Pasco, WA. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
