Obituary of Betty Nesbitt
Biography
Betty Louise Nesbitt passed on from this earth on September 7, 2016 after a brief illness. She was 87 years old. She was born March 15, 1929 in Crested Butte, Colorado and raised in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho by her parents, Wade and Elsie Whitt. On May 10, 1946, she married Robert “Buzz” Buzzell in Fort Collins, Colorado after meeting him through her sister, who lived in Greeley. They moved to Limon and raised 4 children here. Her children have all moved elsewhere, Brent (Shirley) to Saint Louis, MO., Barbara (Albert) to Cocoa Beach, Florida, Brad, deceased 2012, lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Barton lives in Fort Collins, Colorado. Betty had a full life, she worked various jobs over the years, included The First National Bank of Limon, Mountain Bell Telephone, and Prairie View Nursing Home. Buzz passed away in 1981.
Betty married Wayne “Skip” Nesbitt on March 16, 1985. Betty had many friends during her life in Limon, some now gone, but many still here, who she cherished. She and Skip opened their home to many Limon residents, hosting big 4th of July picnics, and inviting others to share holiday dinners with them. Limon was mom's home since she was 17 years old and she never expressed any desire to live anywhere else. Small town living seemed to suit her just fine. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her, parents, her siblings J.D., Peyton, and Verta, her first husband Robert, her son, Bradley, grandchildren Brittany and Andrew, and a step-son, Lou Nesbitt.
She is survived by her husband Wayne “Skip” Nesbitt, Brent, Barbara and Barton, grandchildren Rachel, Jacob, Zachary, Cole, and Steven, great-grandchildren Sydney, June and Benjamin, and step-son, Ben Nesbitt.
The family would like to thank staff at Carla's Cluster Care, and the Hugo Hospital for the compassionate care they showed Betty during the last years of her life.
